About Etive Restaurant
The 2 AA Rosette Etive restaurant which was formerly situated at the heart of the picturesque village of Taynuilt in Argyll has moved to its new site in the busy harbour town of Oban.
John and his family purchased Taynuilt Hotel in 2012, repairing and improving the old hotel to a modern 3 Star Inn serving good food. David joined as General Manager in April 2014 and began to impart his love of service, wine and spirits to the model. January 06th 2017 John and David realised a restaurant devoted to “What we love when dining out” was the way ahead and Etive began .
Etive Restaurant - Oban
After just 9 months of business in Taynuilt with the Etive model, a move to Oban was seriously a consideration and after much deliberation John and David decided to commit and chase the idea. Securing 43 Stevenson Street in Oban was the ideal site, fully refurbished to reflect the original concept. Works were completed between October 2017 and January 2018, a soft opening began between the 6th - 14th of January 2018 Etive Restaurant - Oban with the now standard, excellent selection of wine, malt whisky and gins alongside other spirits and liqueurs. Etive looks forward to a significant future in the Scottish restaurant scene renowned for its excellent hospitality and superb food, becoming the perfect choice for dining in Argyll and the West Coast of Scotland.2018 - Oban Year 1 is complete and it was a great year for us at Etive, not just getting through the year but the business we have built has been great.
